Finalmente se publicó en el diario oficial El Peruano la ley 29735 que declara de interés nacional el uso, preservación, desarrollo, recuperación, fomento y difusión de las lenguas originarias del Perú.
La nueva ley deroga el Decreto Ley 21156, que reconoce el Quechua como Lengua Oficial de la República, y la Ley N° 28106, Ley de Reconocimiento, Preservación, Fomento y Difusión de las Lenguas Aborígenes. Pero en su artículo 9° declara
originarias en los distritos, provincias o regiones en donde
predominen, conforme a lo consignado en el Registro
Nacional de Lenguas Originarias”
Sin embargo, la nueva ley sostiene que
la titularidad individual de los derechos de la persona no impide su ejercicio colectivo. Declara también que, derechos tales como el usar su lengua originaria en ámbitos público y privado, o recibir educaión en su lengua materna y cultura bajo el enfoque de interculturalidad no estan supedidtados a la elaboración del Mapa Etnolingüístico del Perú o al establecimieto de Registro Nacional de Lenguas Originarias.
Con esta ley al estado peruano se obliga a la laboriosa y urgente tara de crear en sus propias dependencias las condiciones para que el ejercicio de los derechos de las personas a usar y desarrollr sus lenguas originarias sea posible. ver ley
