El Prof. Timothy Williamson estuvo hace unos d�as en Lima invitado por la UNMSM donde fue entrevistado por Carmen Zavala. En esta entrevista el profesor nos explica, entre otras cosas, las caracter�sticas m�s "democr�ticas" de la filof�a anal�tica frente a una filosof�a tradicionalmente m�s "jer�rquica" como la de la llamada filosof�a "continental" :
"La filosof�a anal�tica es mucho menos jer�rquica en el sentido de que cuando el fil�sofo anal�tico m�s famoso del mundo va a dar una conferencia en alguna lado y un humilde estudiante le plantea una pregunta rebuscada se espera de �l que trate la pregunta con respeto y que se le de una respuesta apropiada y si no puede hacerlo y si s�lo hace la pregunta a un lado o trata de evadirse de la situaci�n, eso se va a notar y la gente lo va a considerar menos porque no pudo manejar bien la pregunta. Mientras que, en mi experiencia, en el caso de los fil�sofos no-anal�ticos, es mucho m�s probable que estos apelen a su autoridad y simplemente se nieguen a responder preguntas de personas que no consideren que est�n a la altura sufiente en la jerarqu�a como para tener el derecho de hacer estas preguntas."

Timothy Williamson es Professor de L�gica en la Universidad de Oxford . Est� particularmente interesado en la filosof�a de la l�gica, epistemolog�a metaf�sica y filosof�a del lenguaje. Es autor de Identity and Discrimination (Blackwell 1990), Vagueness (Routledge 1994), Knowledge and its Limits (Oxford 2000), The Philosophy of Philosophy (Blackwell 2007)
