Las Supercuerdas y San Agustín

Como se sabe los teóricos de las Supercuerdas usan la imagen del violín para tratar de explicar visualmente su teoría. Imaginemos una cuerda de violín, si la hacemos vibrar le sacaremos diferentes notas, digamos x, y o z. Ninguna de estas notas, nos explican, tiene prioridad sobre ninguna otra, es decir ninguna es "fundante". Lo único que puede tener esta categoría es la cuerda misma: ella es "condición de posibilidad" de las múltiples frecuencias posibles. Así también la supercuerda "vibra" en diferentes frecuencias. Cada una de ellas corresponde a una partícula subatómica o a un "quanta". Las "notas" y las "armonías" que producen las supercuerdas hacen que el "universo" sea en realidad una "sinfonía" de vibraciones.
En "Verdad y Método", Gadamer, a partir del concepto agustiniano de la "distentio animi", curiosamente también toma la imagen de la cuerdas del violín para explicar el fundamento del hablar mismo y de todo hablar, lo que el llama "palabra interior" que no es simplemente " la esquematización previa de esta o de cualquier otra lengua humana". Es más bien " como la cuerda tensa de un instrumento, que contiene cualquier sonido que se busque. La cuerda antecede todavía a toda lengua hablada y suena en todas. Lengua es el mismo e idéntico movimiento de sentido, que en todas partes reúne y convoca cuando resuena una palabra".
