The Wage Guide is an artisan wage calculation tool that guides decisions about how to calculate “a fair wage in a local context.” At the click of a button, the Wage Guide converts ‘artisan per piece payment’ to a ‘daily wage’ and then compares the daily wage to international economic indicators providing advice on how to increase wages to meet these standards.

The Wage Guide helps to ensure that artisans are fairly compensated in the fair trade craft market. Many buyers and artisans in the current fair trade market are looking for guidance on how to pay fair wages. As fair trade gains popularity and more organizations want to be involved, it is essential that we create a standardized methodology around fair wages to protect the good work of people who have been building the fair trade movement over the last 50 years. We want to ensure the growth of the fair trade market is positive and long-lasting.

Asterisk® can now be easily configured with a graphical interface. The new site, AsteriskNOW.org, which is still in development, hosts AsteriskNOW™ Beta. AsteriskNOW™ Beta is a Software Appliance; a GUI implementation with the open source Asterisk distribution. AsteriskNOW includes all the Linux components necessary to run, debug and build Asterisk, and only those components, so installation is easy. You no longer have to worry about kernel versions and package dependencies. Unlike other Linux distributions used to deploy Asterisk, no unnecessary components that might compromise security or performance are included.

GNU Telephony is a meta project dedicated to the development and promotion of the use of free software for telephony. GNU Telephony is used to directly support the GNU Common C++ family of libraries and telephony application servers such as GNU Bayonne, which are part of the GNU Project, as well as other packages that we regularly use. We will also support several special projects from this site, including CAPE runtime libraries, Secure Calling and GNU Telephony Open Embedded.
