Jorge Drexler (II)

No he posteado dos veces al mismo cantante pero con Jorge Drexler voy a hacer una excepción y comentar algo de su música ya habiendo escuchado muchas de sus canciones. En principio me gusta que sea un músico que se ha cuajado con el tiempo y que ha ido progresando lentamente, incorporando a su repertorio nuevos instrumentos y también mejorando muchos sus temas. Sus letras poco a poco se han vuelto mucho más sutiles, más complejas, más densas pero también más motivadoras y cercanas a la realidad.

Algunas de sus canciones hablan del amor pero a diferencia de otros autores no llega a ser meloso y siempre pisa tierra muy fuerte y se da cuenta que la gente es muy compleja y que no se puede andar por el mundo exigiendo el cumplimiento de normas de conducta así como tampoco imponiendo ideas o soñando demasiado. Medita mucho acerca de la condición humana tan débil y a la vez tan fraterna. Busca imágenes contrapuestas para mostrar sus ideas combinando sus canciones con melodías perfectamente coordinadas e innovando constantemente sus arreglos y ritmos. Asimismo hace uso de imagenes y sonidos contemporáneos como pueden ser el sonido del messenger, al recibir un mensaje o las palabras salvapantallas o computadoras.

Su momento estelar ha sido hasta el momento el haber recibido el Oscar por su canción “Al Otro Lado del Río” de la película “Diarios de Motocicleta” (que por cierto la recomiendo). Sin embargo y aunque ya paso algún tiempo quiero elevar mi más enérgica protesta por la tremenda injusticia cometida de no dejarle cantar a Drexler su tema durante la entrega de los premios. Que la hayan interpretaron Santana con Antonio Banderas por más conocidos y renombrados que sean es algo secundario aunque valgan verdades les salió terriblemente mal.

No quiero aburrirlos más, les dejo un par de canciones que me parecen muy buenas. La primera “Frontera” la interpretó cuando rondaba sus treinta y tiene un ritmo muy alegre. La segunda “La vida es más compleja de lo que parece” contiene una profunda meditación sobre los azares de la vida y nos hace ver que hay muchas cosas sobre las que no tenemos dominio y que nos afectan profundamente. Por cierto el video fue tomado durante el concierto que ofreció en la PUCP el año pasado.
