II EDICIÓN PREMIO DE ARBITRAJE INTERNACIONAL
2nd INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION PRIZE

El Centro Internacional de Arbitraje, Mediación y Negociación (CIAMEN) del Instituto
Universitario de Estudios Europeos de la Universidad CEU San Pablo con la colaboración de la Corte Civil y Mercantil de Arbitraje (CIMA) convocan la II Edición del Premio de Arbitraje Internacional, para galardonar y divulgar los mejores trabajos científicos en esta materia, de conformidad con las siguientes bases:
The Civil and Mercantile Court of Arbitration (CIMA). The International Centre for Arbitration, Mediation and Negotiation (CIAMEN) of the University Institute for European Studies of the CEU San Pablo University (Madrid), with the participation of the Civil and Mercantile Court of Arbitration, presents the 2nd International Arbitration Prize, to reward and promote the best scientific papers in this area, in accordance with the following rules.

Primera
MODALIDADES, CONDICIONES Y REQUISITOS DE LOS TRABAJOS
Los trabajos que se presenten a concurso versarán sobre cualquier aspecto de arbitraje internacional y deberán contener artículos doctrinales inéditos, redactados en español, inglés, francés o alemán con una extensión máxima de cincuenta folios Din-A4. Los trabajos se remitirán por correo certificado en 3 ejemplares, con seudónimo, acompañados de soporte electrónico en formato Word. En plica aparte, firmada con el seudónimo en el anverso del sobre y cerrada, se entregará asimismo un ejemplar original adicional firmado y una ficha con todos los datos personales y un breve currículum vitae del concursante. En el caso de grupos de trabajo, deberá presentarse la ficha con los datos personales y breve curriculum vitae de cada uno de los integrantes del grupo autor del trabajo. No se admitirán a concurso los trabajos que no cumplan con estos requisitos.
ONE
SECTIONS, CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PAPERS.
Papers entered in the competition will be on any aspect of international arbitration and must contain unpublished academic articles, drafted in Spanish, English, French or German with a maximum length of fifty Din-A4 sized pages. All texts will be presented in Din-A4 format in Times New Roman 12 point font, 1.5 line spacing, justified paragraphs, with footnotes at the bottom of the page, a table of contents and bibliography, printed on both sides. The work will be presented in three copies, with pseudonym, accompanied by an electronic backup in Word format. In a separate envelope, signed with the pseudonym on the front page of the envelope and sealed, a signed original of the work will be delivered together with a file with all personal details and brief curriculum vitae of the contestant. In the case of workgroups, a file with all personal details and curriculum vitae of each of the members of the group who are authors of the work must be presented. Works that do not comply with these requirements will not be accepted.

Segunda
CONCURSANTES
Podrá concurrir cualquier persona física o equipos de trabajo. Cada persona física o equipo podrá concurrir con la presentación de uno o varios trabajos.
TWO
CONTESTANTS. Any individual or working group can apply. Each individual or group can present one or more papers to the competition.

Tercera
PREMIO
Se concederá un único premio otorgado por el CIAMEN, con la financiación de la Corte Civil y Mercantil de Arbitraje (CIMA) dotado con 6.000 €.

THREE
PRIZE. A single prize will be awarded by CIAMEN, financed by the Civil and Mercantile Court of Arbitration of €6,000. When awarding the prize the current law on applicable taxes will be applied.
Cuarta
PLAZO DE RECEPCIÓN Y LUGAR DE ENTREGA
El plazo de recepción de los trabajos concluirá a las 20.00 horas del día 30 de septiembre de 2010. DEADLINE AND PLACE OF PRESENTATION. The deadline for receipt of the papers will expire at 20:00 hours on September 30th, 2010. Quinta
JURADO
El Jurado estará compuesto por 5 miembros, cuatro de ellos designados por el CIAMEN y uno de ellos designado por CIMA.

JURY. There will be 5 judges, four designated by CIAMEN and one designated by CIMA.

Sexta
CRITERIOS DE SELECCIÓN
El premio de Arbitraje Internacional será otorgado al mejor trabajo presentado en materia de arbitraje internacional. El Jurado valorará la calidad y el rigor técnico de los trabajos, la originalidad de su planteamiento y sus aportaciones innovadoras en
el desarrollo del estudio de esta especialidad jurídica.
SIX
SELECTION CRITERIA.
The International Arbitration Prize will be awarded to the best paper on international arbitration. The Jury will evaluate the quality and technical rigour of the papers presented to the competition, the originality of the approach and innovative contributions to the development of the study of this legal specialization.

Séptima
RESOLUCIÓN DEL CONCURSO Y ENTREGA DEL PREMIO
El nombre del ganador de la II Edición del Premio de Arbitraje Internacional se comunicará personalmente por correo certificado a la persona premiada.
Posteriormente se publicará una breve reseña a través de los medios de comunicación. El Jurado se reserva el derecho a declarar desierto el premio. El fallo del Jurado será inapelable. El premio se entregará en un acto público una vez se haya hecho pública la designación del premiado.
SEVEN
CONCLUSION OF THE COMPETITION AND PRIZEGIVING
The name of the winners of the 2nd International Arbitration Prize will be communicated individually by certified mail to the persons concerned. A short notice will then be published in the media. The judges reserve the right not to award the prize. The judges’ decision will be final. The prize will be awarded in a public ceremony that will take place once the prize has been made public.

PUBLICACIÓN DE LOS TRABAJOS
El trabajo premiado será publicado por el CIAMEN. Los originales de los trabajos no premiados no se devolverán, quedando a disposición del CIAMEN para su eventual publicación en formato físico y soporte electrónico en la Web del Instituto Universitario de Estudios Europeos de la Universidad CEU San Pablo.

EIGHT
PUBLICATION OF THE PAPER. The winning paper will be published by CIAMEN. Originals of papers which do not win will not be returned, and will remain available to CIAMEN for possible publication on paper or in electronic form on the web of the University Institute for European Studies of the San Pablo CEU University (www.idee.ceu.es).

DATOS PERSONALES
Los datos personales de los participantes se cederán al Instituto Universitario de Estudios Europeos, quien los incorporará respectivamente en sus ficheros de datos debidamente inscritos en la Agencia Española de Protección de Datos. El responsable del tratamiento de estos datos es el Instituto Universitario de Estudios Europeos. Estos datos podrán publicarse en la Web del Instituto Universitario de Estudios Europeos de la Universidad CEU San Pablo (www.idee.ceu.es) y se utilizarán para enviar, por cualquier medio, comunicaciones sobre actividades de arbitraje y cualquier otra que pudiera ser de interés para los participantes.

NINE
PERSONAL DATA. Participants’ personal data will be provided to the University Institute for European Studies, who will incorporate such data into data files that are duly registered with the Spanish Agency for Data Protection. The controller of the data processing is the University Institute for European Studies.
The data may be published on the web page of the University Institute for European Studies of CEU San Pablo University (www.idee.ceu.es) and will be used to notify the participants, by any method, of activities relating to arbitration and that are of interest to the participants.
Interested parties may exercise their rights of access, rectification, opposition and cancellation in relation to such data by writing to:

ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
Participation in the 2nd International Arbitration Prize implies full and total acceptance of these Rules.
