1.- Do you think is challenging about trying to understand the past through archaeology? Why?

I think unearth the past through archaeology is challenging because understand story about the object are very difficult. The objects tell a story about human activity in the past, but require know the context.
Discovery the contextual information about the objects not is easy. The objects tell a story about things you like or don’t like. Therefore, archeologist need dedication and time to understand patterns of human activity in the past. Context information is so vital and site of object is piece of history.

2.- Would you enjoy assisting on an archaeological dig? Why, or why not?

I don´t know. I think that an archaeological dig is very difficult because you should take care with the site and objects. It requires special tools and look each detail of object. Too, require special skills and strengths because dig isn´t simple in site. It’s a process of removing layers. It will take week to fully dig. I prefer others task.

3- Imagine if, 500 years from now, a team of archaeologists discovered your home. What might they deduce about you, your behavior, and your way of life?

I believe that they may discover different object of other places. Their hypothesis can be that I was one person that traveled and collected objects of each place that I visited. Furthermore, the archaeologists can unearth my two laptop and understand my daily work. Too, the archaeologist can study my clothes and deduce I worked in office and I didn’t dedicate to farm. My things can explain my hobbies and my preferences. For example, watched movie, listed music, read the book, etc. Each object used for me, is one way to understand the story of my life in the past.

1- Do you think is challenging about trying to understand the past through archaeology? Why?
Yes, it is a total challenge, because as the video explains, it is similar to trying to put together a puzzle where half of the pieces are not found, just like the instructions. Also, understand that you will never have a complete image of the archaeological site because it will always be incomplete, but we can get pretty close to the initial image thanks to field work through computerized technology.

2- Would you enjoy assisting on an archaeological dig? Why, or why not?
Not because, it could alter the soil matrix that helps build the contextual history of the place or seriously alter it. The reading that the archaeologist handles and the slow and methodical field work is unique, as is the dismantling of the archaeological site and the documentation of the evidence. Finally, because I could only be interested in the discovery of the object and not in the preservation of its contextual information that surrounds it.

3- Imagine if, 500 years from now, a team of archaeologists discovered your home. What might they deduce about you, your behavior, and your way of life?
Yes, the way of life, the importance of the objects that I preserve and the order of the interests that surround me. They could also deduce my behavior based on the findings they find and the location of objects after fully reading the landscape of my house.

1- Do you think it is challenging to try to understand the past through archaeology? Why?
I firmly believe that facing the challenge of discovering information from past events is like engaging in a complex historical reconstruction. Archaeology provides us with the fascinating opportunity to decipher secrets buried in time and, in some way, give voice to objects that have remained silent for centuries. I deeply admire the art of archaeology, where each excavation is like a page from an ancient book unfolding before us. The ability to interpret these remnants of the past requires not only technical skill but also a profound appreciation of history and culture. It is a meticulous process that demands patience and constant curiosity. Valuing the work of archaeologists becomes an acknowledgment not only of their technical expertise but also of their dedication to understanding the behavior of our ancestors and the environment in which they forged their lives.

2- Would you enjoy assisting on an archaeological dig? Why, or why not?
I would find it intriguing to participate in an archaeological dig. The challenge of unearthing the past and gaining insights into ancient civilizations is something that appeals to me. Contributing directly to the discovery of artifacts and being part of the process of deciphering historical mysteries seems like a rewarding experience. Being engaged in an archaeological dig offers not only a hands-on opportunity to explore history but also a chance to understand the context of human activities in the past. It aligns with my appreciation for the dedication and knowledge demonstrated by archaeologists in interpreting the stories told by objects from bygone eras.

3- Imagine if, 500 years from now, a team of archaeologists discovered your home. What might they deduce about you, your behavior, and your way of life?
The archaeologists of the future, upon exploring my home, could discover artifacts reflecting my interests and passions. A guitar, music CDs, some books, collectibles, technological equipment, and other items could reveal my inclination towards music and knowledge. All these items would “speak about me” and the enthusiasm and passion I demonstrate for things that truly interest me.

    Hello Everyone,

1- Do you think is challenging about trying to understand the past through archaeology? Why?

Yes, it a difficult work because you must have specials abilities to analysis the context, and mix with technologies and you should be methodic and patient.

Archaeological is telling you the story of the past, for that they requited sites undamaged by thieve.

The objects tell a story about thinks you like, and also things that you don’t like or difficult situations in the past. For example, the scientist looks for these objects but it very difficult to understand what happened in the past. Some time they have to past a lot of years looking for one clue in order to do a historical discovery.

2- Would you enjoy assisting on an archaeological dig? Why, or why not?

No way, you have to be patient!!, So that is very difficult for me.
It is true that a lot of people say “The past teaches us not to make the same mistakes twice”, but I not like the past, I prefer future. With a global information and changing every day, you should not stay in the past.

Other thing that a I don’t like is field work because it hard and physical and also is possible to be far away for your family in places that are a challenge to life.

3- Imagine if, 500 years from now, a team of archaeologists discovered your home. What might they deduce about you, your behavior, and your way of life?

In base on the Video, they must find some objects that tell what I like for example:
Some soccer shoes, that will tell them that I like soccer.
Maybe they find my play station, that will tell them that I like video games.
Also… they could find dog toys, because I love animals.
Well my life is quiet, you won’t find much more, some rum, or car pictures, travel pictures, and well, I hope they don’t find my bones =(

    Best Regards
