1.- Which of the ideas presented in the article do you agree the most? Why?
I agree more with the idea that in today’s increasingly interconnected and interdependent world, mastering other languages is a vital skill, because, in effect, it provides the opportunity to interact with the world in a more immediate and significant, since it is proven that language skills are a competitive advantage over monolingual people, regardless of their sector or skill level.

2.-What’s the reason you are learning English? Are any of your reasons mentioned in the article?
I learn English precisely because I need to increase my competitive skills and because I want to read books written in English in their original language.
The two reasons that I presented are mentioned, that is, to improve my competitive skills and the desire to read books written in English in the original language, since the latter allows a better approach to the culture of English-speaking countries.

3.- What other language would you like to learn besides English? Why?
I would like to learn German because I am more related to the subjects that are of my professional interest.

4.- Do you think some languages are easier to learn than others? Which ones, and why?
According to several specialists, for a Spanish speaker the languages of the same origin, that is, the Romance or Neo-Latin (Portuguese, French, Italian, Catalan, Galician, Romanian, etc.) are the easiest to learn, because they share many structures and lexicon, and that makes learning easier.

5.- How many languages do you think will exist 100 years from now? Which do you predict will be the most dominant, and why?
I don’t think there are many more languages than there are at the moment and, from what is happening today, probably a dominant language is Chinese, as the technological and financial world seems to be going in that direction.

1.- Which of the ideas presented in the article do you agree the most? Why?

I agree with all the reasons, but I highlight “feed your brain” because it has been shown that the command of two and more languages improves our cognitive capacity and this allows our attention to increase, improving our ability to perform tasks efficiently. I also think that knowing at least one language, in addition to the mother tongue, is essential today for professional development, although the most important thing is the advantages it offers in terms of health.

2.-What’s the reason you are learning English? Are any of your reasons mentioned in the article?

I learn English because I need to develop my reading comprehension skills and perfectly read texts written in English. Also, the command of the language will allow me to continue advancing in my professional aspect.
Two reasons are mentioned, such as “advance in your career” and “go to the source”

3.- What other language would you like to learn besides English? Why?

I am interested in learning Portuguese because many other research articles related to topics of interest to me are written in that language.

4.- Do you think some languages are easier to learn than others? Which ones, and why?

According to various investigations, there are languages that are easier to learn than others and this depends on our mother tongue. For example, these investigations express that for Spanish speakers the language that is easiest to learn and in the shortest time is Portuguese, followed by Italians, French, Catalan and Roman.

5.- How many languages do you think will exist 100 years from now? Which do you predict will be the most dominant, and why?

I could not assume the number of existing languages for the next 100 years, but I do think that there will be fewer languages than there are today. and this is due to the fact that languages evolve, modify, mix, disappear, reappear and reinvent themselves with the aim of getting people to understand each other. In an increasingly globalized and interconnected world.
On the other hand, I consider that the most dominant languages within 100 years could be Mandarin Chinese, because its economic power strengthens over the years.
