Blog 5:  What Type of Traveler Are You?

About This Quiz

There’s a quote that says, “travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer,” and it couldn’t be more accurate. The experiences you have, things you try and quality time you spend with yourself, nature and whoever you’re traveling with all add more to your life than money ever could. You’ll come back from your travels with a newfound appreciation for what you have and all the beautiful places this world has given you. What’s the best part of traveling? Well, that entirely depends on who you are as a person. Maybe you only travel for work and don’t get away on many vacations. Would you travel differently for work than pleasure?

Traveling for work usually means you don’t get to see the sights, sounds and smells of the location you’re traveling to. But if you really wanted to, you could find a way to get a good experience outside the conference room at your hotel. Traveling for pleasure is a whole different game. You’re more likely to bring fun clothes, guide books and leave plenty of room in your suitcase for trinkets you pick up along the way. What kind of traveler do you think you are, whether you’re traveling for work or for fun? Take this quiz to find out! (…)

    Hello,

I am the type of traveler who plans her trip months in advance. My family sometimes says that I get stressed when I try to organize the whole trip properly, but it is not like that, it is quite the opposite if I do not go on a trip with things planned, that is a stress for me. My family then appreciates that all the details have been thought about to have an unforgettable vacation.

It’s easy for me to meet people. I am a very sociable person, that is why when I travel to another country where another language is spoken, I try to learn some necessary phrases to communicate at least in the most basic. I like to converse with people and learn about other cultures and way of life.

I think that the Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu wanted to say that sometimes it is better not to have anything so planned and schematized, that it is better to let go and enjoy the moments and circumstances that arise on a trip. Personally, I do not agree because it scares me a bit not knowing how long I am going to be away, where I am going to stay, where I am going to eat, when I am going to arrive or return home.

According to the quiz I am a planner traveler, and it is right I am that kind of person who likes to plan in advance and organize the activities and tours and have additional options.
It all depends on the destination and how I see people interact to each other. I like to observe first and then I approach to people and initiate the conversation.
I think that the Chinese philosopher meant to say was that people do not have to overwhelm planning and overthink, instead they need to enjoy the journey. I agree with it because I have learned that you do not to stick with the plan and go with the flow, even though I am a planner sometimes it is better to enjoy the journey.

According to the test I am the follower and I think the result is correct. I rarely like to plan because it means being attentive to all the details, especially when you go in a group.
I think you can meet people if that is one of your goals and I also think that sometimes you dream of doing different trips and you don’t get to do them. In any case, the intention is worth it.
