The Schedule was sort of like this: el itinerario fue más o menos así:

10:47 We arrived to the town od Matucana. Llegamos a la ciudad de Matucana
12:37 It was very cold we were at the top altitude we will reach that day. and we saw the waterfall for the first time.
2:15 I reached the waterfall, not everybody made it, the path was difficult and I was tired but three of us decided to go a little further and I don’t regret that at all.
4:30 We reached Matucana Again the walking was good and we stoped for a soup before coming back Regresamos a Matucana la caminata fue buena y paramos por una sopa antes de regresar a la ciudad.

Ok that was the schedule, Now the experience, related as a story as usual:
I went to sleep after reading a book, which means I went to sleep very late In other words I wake up late for this expedition, I barely had time to made my lunch and my breakfast.
Talking about food, if you are going to that sort of trips I’ll give you some advice on food:
  • remember how much time the food is going to last, food for a camping site is different than for a day’s walk
  • Pack only the food that you are going to eat, if you think you might feel hungry pack some nuts and raisins
  • The food might get smashed and it’s a weight you will carry
  • More important than food is water, gatorade is ok but water will serve you alright
  • There are no Microwave ovens on the waterfalls remember that whatever you get there to eat will be cold, so cold dishes are better than fried ones.
  • Don’t leave your food on the camping site, that is just disgusting and gross, get your trash back to town and don’t liter the enviroment!!!

Ok now the recipe for a veggie sandwich for a day’s walking adventure: between two Slices of bread put lettuce, sliced Tomato, and cheese. Put that on ziploc Bag and place it on top of your things so it doesn’t get smashed. The ziploc bags are in case it does get smashed, everything will be kept inside.
Now back to the adventure:

Well as I said before I arrived sort of late, but not so late, because my sister gave me a ride there, therefore I didn’t have too much trouble on getting there on time, good thing because the buses were crowded and I wouldn’t have been able to get there on time otherwise.
There I meet some people that you might remember from my first post XD because this hiking trip was organized by Paul and also Nancy was there and I was remind of thing that I did in the jungle… Like the striptease on the dance club, and the fact that I might not have pictures of it but Paul has them. Anyway I decided to read on my way to Matucana and talk a little with Paul and Nancy and her friend Fara. This time the trip on the bus was quite pleasant and nothing happened. Once we arrived Matucana we left the town to go to: Huariquiña but on our way there a train stopped us to go any further and we waited. I forgot to mention that two dogs followed us all the way, I don’t know why but they were with us since we left matucana, all the way to the waterfalls and back, i must say that they have a better physical condition than I do. We did the presentations and the gattering on the road just outside town and we were quite a crowd, anyway you will see that the group is different in ages and shapes.

the train is gone
The crowd

And we started out way up the parth was clear first but as we were going up the path became less clear and on top of that the fact that it’s rain season on the highlands means that there were many mountain slides that prevented us from reaching the waterfalls, the main road was blocked that is what I called the first sight of the waterfalls and we had to go back on a very narrow path that was very difficult, as usual going down was harder than to go up, also since I was on good shape I was helping people to get pass the places and I got behind but I had a lot of fun, and with a lot of effort I finally made it to the waterfalls, and it was good, then we all came back they were making jokes about getting me drunk and strip on the bus but that was simply not going to happen! Now the article has grown a lot so I’ll post some pictures.
