| well today’s article is how interesting has technology has become, seriously dude! let me tel you my experience, for example internet most of you might know that internet has quite some time on the run don’t you think and you might probably be on the generation that has seen internet all your life, well I used internet for a long time ago I’m not an elder but yeap i have seen internet for a while, by the way I’m 21 years old so I’m not that old ok? but to prove my point lets see my encounter with internet was arround 199something I think between 4 5 or 6 that’s when I created my mail in yahoo, tha same mail I have been using since those days, I got my account canceled one but I got it back happily about 10 years ago my mail is almost historical for example my mail was given to me by my sister she has the historical e-mail, since she didn’t got it canceled. my mail is maraves@yahoo.com when yahoo had only the .com dominion but my sister has a far more interesting mail I won’t give it to you because is her privacy but she has thenickofmysister@rocketmail.com and she access to it by yahoo, I never knew but either rocketmail was absorbed by yahoo as the youtube now or it was the beta project for the yahoo mail, back in my days the chat was very popular and not the fancy chats with 3D images but the mirc (for chatting not downloading) or the latinchat. | Bueno el articulo de hoy es sobre lo interesante que es la tencnologia, no en serio! dejen que les cuente mi experiencia, por ejemplo internet como ustedes sabran internet tiene un buen tiempo incluso quizas tu seas de la generacion que ha visto internet toda la vida, bueno yo he usado internet por un buen timepo, no soy un abuelito pero si he visto internet por un buen timpo, les recuerdo que tengo 21 asi que tan viejo no soy ok?, bueno para probar mi punto les dire que mi encuentro con internet fue alrededor del 1990 y algo creo que 94 o 95 ahi fue cuando cree mi mail yahoo, el mismo mail que he usado toda mi vida alguna vez me lo cancelaron por falta de uso, pero lo recupere hace unos 10 años y ese es el mail que he usado desde esas epocas, el mail de mi hermana es mas historio pues a ella nunca la cancelaron, por lo tanto mi mail es maraves@yahoo.com cuando aun podias elegir nicks originales en yahoo XD y el de mi hermana es elnickdemihermana@rocketmail.com obiamente no les doy mas que el dominio XD lo interesante es que ella accede por yahoo a ver su cuenta nunca supe bien si rocketmail fue comprado por yahoo como youtube pro google o si este fue el beta de yahoomail, en mis tiempos las cosas eran diferentes, no habian chats chvrs con imagenes 3D sino uno chateaba en el mirc o el latinchat que fue tan popular en peru. |
| when I first used internet it didn’t have to be a pay service so most of the pages were free and the parental control was not even available, that’s why I left using it hehehe, my sister didn’t want to corrupt me, also you should know that in peru there where only 5 or 6 Internet cafes or “cabinas” I had to commute 1 hour to get the place I was affiliated and one hour was 5 soles almost 2 dollars at that time currency. I remember that I took a course on how to use DOS and word perfect, and Qpro have you even heard of them? those are the grandfathers of the common office and I must admit that most of the advanced commands are much the same, but now instead of only one way to do them you have almost 5 or 7, I remember that computer came with both floppy disk drives the 3.5 and the 5.25 inches the hard drive of a computer was huge when it had 250 MB. I remember that I did my homeworks with encarta and nothing else and got good grades on school regardless if I just copied the content, but the teacher couldn’t check because he didn’t had a computer. and then I stop being on the top of technology when things started to get crazzy. I remember when the best browser was either yahoo or www.altavista.digital.com and yes if you didn’t tipped digital it didin’t worked. those time were fun. and now I’m shocked. | Cuando use internet por primera vez no era un servicio pay per view y el control parental no estaba disponible, creo que es por ello que deje de usarlo, mi hermana no queria que me corrompiera tan pequeño tambien hay que recordar que esa epoca en peru solo habian 5 o 6 cabinas de internet asi que tenia que viajar en bus por una hora para llegar al lugar donde estaba afiliado y costaba unos 5 soles. Recuerdo haber tomado un curso en como usar DOS y word perfect y Qpro, alguna vez escuchaste de ellos? esos son los abuelitos del office, y debo de admitir que los comandos avanzados son casi lo mismo pero ahora en lugar de hacer una cosa de una forma tienes 5 o 7 y las computadoras venian con las dos disketteras las de 3.5 y 5.25 pulgadas, el disco duro de una computadora era enorme cuando tenia 250 MB. Y recuerdo que mis tareas las hacia con encarta y nada mas y sacaba buenas notas apesar que copiaba mucha informacion pero el profesor no tenia forma de copiar porque el no tenia una computadora, I luego deje de estar en lo maximo de la tecnologia y las cosas empezaron a ser locas. Recuerdo que el mejor buscador de mi epoca era www.altavista.digital.com y yahoo y si ponias la direccon de altavista sin el digital no cargaba, esos tiempos eran buenos, y ahora me sorprendo. |
| I’m in texas now my mom and my sister are in lima and my father is in cajamarca all in Peru, also my best friends and so on. and I was talking with a friend and he told me that both skipe and yahoo could be used to call regular telephone numbers, I was shocked I have seen that a lot when I first arrived but for me is so natural to just buy a plastic card and dial the number and follow 5 minutes of instructions just to make one phone call, and there I saw call from yahoo, I have my mic and my speakers so I gave it a shot a 10 dollars shot it was amazing I called there and the sound was really good, I realized that the problem with my equipment in Peru is the lack of technology I should update it once I get back but the home phone was great, of course there is still some noise and some lag I know it because of the IP phone transition is kind of slow but still if you speak calmly everything works just fine, and is so cheap especially compared with the phone cards to Peru the rates are quite high but with internet is really cheap 3 cents a minute and 24.9 cents to cellphones, is better to talk to land phones in my country as always but still is cheap compared with the rates of a regular card, let’s see a card charges me 18 minutes to land phones for 5 dollars plus taxes. that means 3 minutes and 30 seconds per dollar and that is 28 cents a minute compared to 3 cents well make your bets what I’m going to use from now on, I even took the liberty to call long time friends and talked with them for a long time I missed them, I will say that is freaking awesome to call a foreign country for so cheap, I might call my friends more often because they deserve that kind of attention, I think the rates are awesome and I thnk that technology is great, it keeps developing so much and I’m so happy with it. I guess that technology amazes you whenever it saves you troubles or money. well see ya | Estoy en texas ahora y mi madre y mi hermana estan en lima y mi padre vive en cajamarca, ademas mis mejores amigos viven ahi tambien. Y estube hablando con uno de mis amigos y me dijo que use Skype y yahoo para usarlo en llamadas a telefonos normales, cuando llegue estaba sorprendido porque es muy comun hacer eso comprenderan que yo cuando llegue me compre una tarjeta plastica para llamar por telefono y la tarjetita solo me permite unos 5 minutos de llamada bueno al final vi el sistema de llamadas de yahoo y decidi probarlo, por lo cual agregé 10 dolares a mi cuenta y empece a hacer llamadas desde ahi, el sonido es bastante bueno, siempre hay ruido cuando hablas pero eso esta bien para mi me di cuenta que lo que pasaba con el equipo que tenia en peru es que es muy antiguo, y por lo tanto, la calidad no es buena, pero el servicio es barato 3 centavos de dolar el minuto, y aunque cuesta 24.9 centavos la llamada a celulares es mas barato que llamar desde otro celular o con la tarjetita, pues esta cuesta 5 dolares mas impuestos y me cobran unos 28 centavos el minuto, comparado con los 3 centavos del yahoo creo que pueden hacer sus apuestas a que servicio estare usando en los proximos dias incluso me he tomado la libertad de llamar a algunas personas que he extrañado y es muy chvr recibir llamadas del extranjero, y creo que mis amigos se merecen ese tipo de atenciones, creo firmemente que los precios son geniales y que la tecnologia es lo maximo siempre se desarrolla mas y mas y eso me alegra tanto. Yo creo que la tecnologia sorprende a y te saca de problemas o te ayuda a ahorrar dinero. Bueno Nos vemos gente. |
| how does tech has changed your life, for me in lot of things, homeworks from internet, class copies from the teacher webpage, research froom my own laptop, msn to talk with friends and now to call them at home or their cellphones, that is awesome. and ofcourse this Blog to talk about things.
