| Ohh you are here what a nice surprise well I’ll start, Electricity… um I have no idea how is that defined why don’t you take a look on the wikipedia, they have nice information on it, a dictionary might help too, but for me electricity is energy, and as many of my fellows Electrical Engineers might say it’s the easiest way to use energy. you might be thinking that I’m crazy by now, how come electricity is the easiest way to deal with energy. Well simply: you want light then you plug a light bulb to the electric grid then you will have light, let’s see how can you do the same with other energy things: you have Natural gas, then you burn it the combustion will create fire and fire will create light and heat (awesome but I just wanted light, and the fire must be treated with care otherwise I’ll burn my wood apartment) the same goes for oil, coal and wood. Now wind umm you can’t use wind directly and if you can without converting it to electricity first let me know how I’ll patent the idea and make money out of it, well I’ll give you some credit perhaps(just being sarcastic) water, the same. Electricity is just easy to use I think I have made my point clear, besides, let me know how you create you binary logic and a computer that reacts with oil, coal or fire that would be awesome. As you can see electricity is easy to use, I think i have said that enough, therefore I think that the pint is completely clear. | Ohh por lo visto estas leyendo este articulo, que felicidad ok Empezaremos, Electricidad… No tengo idea como definirla asi que mejor dale una mirada a la wikipedia, ellos tienen buena informacion al respecto, un diccionario tambien te podria ayudar en ello, pero para mi la electricidad es energia, y como a muchos otros de mis compañeros ingenieros electricos pueden decir, es la manera mas sencilla de energia. A este punto de tu lectura debes pensar que estoy loco, como va a ser la manera mas sencilla de manejar la energia? Es muy sencillo: quieres luz? entonces conecta el foco y tendras luz, veamos hacer lo miso por ejemplo con gas natural, entonces tendiras que hacer fuego y con ello tendrias luz y calor y humo (lo cual es lo maximo sin embargo tu solo querias luz y debes ser cuidadoso no sea que quemes el apartamento) lo mismo va por petroleo, carbon y madera. Ahora el viento eso no lo puedes usar directamente y si lo puedes hacer sin convertirlo en electricidad debes de patentar la idea y hacer dinero de ello o dame la idea y prometo darte al menos el credito (solo soy un poco sarcastico) el agua es lo mismo. La electricidad es una forma muy facil de usar creo que ese punto es claro, ademas dime como piensas hacer una logica binaria y una computadora hecha enteramente de petroleo, carbon o fuego, eso seria imprecionante. Como puedes ver la electricidad es muy sencilla de usar, pero creo que he dicho eso mucho asi que ahora si creo que mi punto esta totalmente claro |
| Ok electricity is that great why we just use it carelessly? well I haven’t said that it was perfect, electricity has it’s downsizes for example: it follows many rules, and some of them are so amazing that you will do nothing that seem dangerous but in the end nothing will happen, also there will be things that are extremely dangerous that you have no idea. But the good thing is that as long as you don’t mess up with the wires and electric machinery without knowledge of what are you doing, you will be fine. trust me your computer run with electricity and you are not getting electric shock right now do you? if so then you are messing with electric stuff, probably the things that you might think that are important. Ok security, but if electricity is securely controlled as it is now then we might be fine with using it, why do I care much about educating you people about it? well that simple, the other downsize of electric energy (electricity for the friends) is that it is some of the forms of energy that can not be stored, Yeap you heard it right CAN NOT be stored. umm that’s strange you might say, then if we produce more energy than we really need?, the answer is simple: either we stop producing energy or we start consuming more energy. well that is the problem, that and losses on transmission, that are far less than the losses of other systems but still are losses. and with that all the mechanical problems that can come with it, but will be another article. | Ok la electricidad es tan genial entonces porque no usarla a diestra y siniestra? bueno yo no he dicho que esta sea perfecta, la electricidad tiene sus problemas tambien: la electricidad sigue muchas reglas, y algunas de ellas son tan impresionantes que da terror que no fallen, y tambien hay cosas que son tan peligrosas de las que no tienes ni idea. Pero lo bueno es que mientras no confundas los cablecitos y no te metas con las maquinas sin conocer lo que haces entonces todo estara bien. Creanme la computadora que estas usando a electricidad no te esta dando shocks electricos o si? si tu respuesta fue si, entonces deja de jugar con las cosas. Ok ahora veamos un aspecto importante es la seguridad, la electricidad si esta bien controlada como lo es ahora, es sencillo usarla, entonces porque me molesto en escribir este articulo? bueno es sencillo lo que pasa es que otro de los problemas de la electricidad es que es una forma de energia que no puede ser almacenada, si me escucharon bien, NO puede ser almacenada. eso parece ser extraño y contradictorio con la experiencia, pero aceptemos el hecho, de que si producimos mas electridad de la que usamos? la respuesta es sencilla o dejamos de producir tanta energia o consumimos mas energia. Bueno ese es un problema, y con las perdidas en transmision, que son menores que en otros sistemas, pero perdidas al fin, y todos los problemas mecanicos que se derivan de aquello, pero ese sera para otro articulo. |
| The problem of storing Energy is great, you might think, that I’m talking no sense after all we have those rechargeable batteries that easily store the energy, well have you thought how quick you run out of batteries when using a camera? you might change your mind, and remember that those batteries have to supply power for your dryer, your washing machine the compressor on your fridge etc etc. then you can realize to provide energy to those simple things will quickly consume the energy that is stored on a battery, well then, considerate that a battery is not energy itself, but a chemical reaction that will produce energy, so in order to charge it instead of taking energy out off it we apply energy to it, nevertheless nowadays that’s very inefficient and the amount of energy that can be stored has a limit, provided by the chemical bonds in fact the more energy is stored on a battery the most inefficient the charge becomes. Energy my friend is what provides the word with food, now it is the most important resource for industry and life, we have developed a nightlife, and a technology life by the existence of the electricity, the difference between a developed country and a poor country, is the way they use the energy. it is an important resource, we must try to maximaze it’s usage, I don’t know how but we must try, the world is coming close to a energy shortage, we have twoo options, either we produce more power, or we start consuming less power, so I guess we must start working on both, technology yhas proven that new forms of energy will be available, solar, wind, see waves, rivers, etc etc. as the renewal, neverthelss everything will produce an impact, of a cost that is high, time will prove that there is no totaly clean resource, everything has an effect. but we have time to develop and change, I thrust that humanity will find the way. I least I have hope, there is great people out there, you should try to become one |
El problema de almacenar la energia es un gran problema, claro que tu creeras que esoty hablando cosas sin sentido, porque por experiencia puedes usar baterias recargables para almacenar tu energia, bueno alguna vez has pensado en lo rapido que se gastan estas baterias cuando usas tu camara? quizas cambies de opinion, ademas imaginate que tendrias que usar baterias para hacer funcionar algo como la secadora de ropa la labadora el refrigerador y demas, en ese caso realmente te pones a pensar que entregarle energia a esas cosas es un esfuerzo grande que consumiria rapidamente cualquier bateria ademas de este punto debes de considerar que las baterias no son energia pura sino mas bien reacciones quimicas cuya reaccion interna al unir los polos produce electricidad en ese caso debes de considerar tambien cuan eficiente es usar una bateria, no solo debes de pensar en eso sino tambien en el limite para almacenar esa energia, el limite en los enlaces quimicos y el hecho en que mientras mas saturada la mezcla de energia menos eficiente sera la carga. La energia Energia mis amigos es lo que hace que el mundo tenga alimento, y ahora es el recurso mas importante para la industria y la vida en general, actualmente hemos desarrollado algo llamado vida nocturna, y vida tecnologica gracias a la existencia de la electricidad, la diferencia entre un pais subdesarrollado y uno desarrollado es la forma en la que usan la energia electrica. Es un recurso importante y debemos de maximizar su uso, No se como pero debemos de intentarlo, el mundo se acerca a una crisis energetica en cuyo caso nos quedan dos opciones o producimos mas poder o consumimos menos poder. asi que creo que deberiamos empezar a trabajar en ambos la tecnologia actual nos permite tener muchas mas cosas a dispocicion como energia solar, eolica, de olas, rios, etc. etc. sin embargo estas no produciran ningun impacto al costo actual de las cosas ademas todo tiene su costo nada es totalmente limpio. Pero creo que tenemos tiempo para desarrollar un cambio; cre que la humanidad lograra encontrar una manera, al menos eso espero porque hay una gran cantidad de gente aqui quizas alguno pueda hacer algo. |
